The Language Game

Learning a new language is hard. That’s why we made The Language Game – a fun tool for expanding your vocabulary and improving pronunciation!

The Language Game is a multi-platform app that encourages you to learn through the medium of competition. Want to beat your friends? Well, you’d better start learning!

• Release Date: June 25th 2015
• Platforms: Android, iOS, PC
• Price: Approx £3.99 ($4.99)

What makes The Language Game special?

• Five interchangeable languages (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish)
• Over 900 phrases (2000+ words) across 59 categories
• Full native recordings with perfect pronunciation
• Challenging ‘Blockbusters-style’ 2 player game
• Four language-based mini games
• Study mode that lets you reinforce specific categories

Similar to the old TV show ‘Blockbusters’, players compete for tiles on a hexagonal grid, each one representing a learning category. The first person to connect their two sides of the board wins the game.

The twist is that you can ‘sandwich’ your opponent’s tiles to flip them over to your side. When all the tiles are won the game ends, and the player with the most points wins!

Learn smart, not hard
New phrases are introduced gradually so as not to overwhelm. They are spoken by native linguists in both your own language and the one you’re learning to let your mind digest the new information.

You can also replay any of the phrases during the learning phase, so you will never feel rushed.

The game also notices phrases you have trouble with and will re-introduce them to reinforce your knowledge. If you find a really tricky category you can replay it on your own in the ‘Study Mode’ that gives you a set of games to play.

The Language Game is available now on Steam for PC and Google Play for Android devices.
